Cosy autumn moments: Discover our favourite (alcoholic) drinks for after your autumn walk

With the onset of autumn comes a magical atmosphere of cosiness and change. The trees take on a beautiful mix of colours, autumn walks in the woods become alluring again and evenings under a blanket bring a sense of warmth and cosiness. But you know what really shouldn't be missing from this picture? A delicious autumn drink. And let's be honest, for that extra dose of cosiness, we are only too happy to add a touch of alcohol. Discover below our recommendations for autumn drinks with that extra bit of spice.

Pumpkin-Speculoos latte with rum

If, like us, pumpkin gets you in the autumn mood, this recipe is definitely for you. Especially if you are a fan of the delicious combination of pumpkin and speculoos! And here comes a little 'spoiler alert': this drink is really autumn in a glass.

Ingredients

  • 240ml milk
  • 60ml fresh pumpkin puree (homemade or canned)
  • 45ml rum (or vanilla vodka for a sweeter twist)
  • 1 tablespoon of specula syrup
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • Speculoos cookie crumbs

Preparation

  1. Heat the milk in a pan over low heat, but do not let it boil.
  2. Add the pumpkin puree and stir well
  3. Add the speculaas syrup and honey and keep stirring until everything is well mixed.
  4. Remove the pan from the heat and add the rum, stir again.
  5. Enjoy the mixture in a mug and top with a generous dollop of whipped cream
  6. Top with some crumbled speculoos cookies

Cinnamon-apple cider

Besides pumpkin, apple is also a signature flavour for autumn. Here's a tip: use cinnamon syrup instead of a cinnamon stick for an extra touch of cinnamon flavour.

Ingredients

  • 480ml unsweetened apple cider
  • 60ml cinnamon schnapps
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 2-3 cloves
  • Thinly sliced apple
  • Cinnamon sugar (for the rim of the glass)

Preparation

  1. Pour the apple cider into a pan and heat over low heat. Make sure it does not boil.
  2. Add the cinnamon stick and cloves to the cider and simmer for about 10-15 minutes, allowing the flavours to mix well.
  3. Remove the pan from the heat and remove the cinnamon stick and cloves
  4. Add the cinnamon schnapps to the hot cider and stir well
  5. Optional: dip the rim of your glass in some water and then cinnamon sugar for an extra festive touch
  6. Pour the cinnamon-apple cider into your glass and garnish with thin slices of apple if desired

White chocolate with whisky and cinnamon

Mmm, who still likes warm white chocolate? This drink is perfect to enjoy after an autumn walk.

Ingredients

  • 60g white chocolate, finely chopped
  • 45ml whisky
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon, plus extra for garnish
  • Whipped cream
  • White chocolate flakes (optional)

Preparation

  1. Heat the milk in a pan over low heat. Make sure the milk does not boil, but gets well warm.
  2. Add the chopped white chocolate to the warm milk and stir until the chocolate is completely melted.
  3. Remove the pan from the heat and add the whisky, vanilla extract and ground cinnamon. Stir well to mix everything together
  4. Pour the hot chocolate into a mug.
  5. Finish the drink with some whipped cream and a pinch of ground cinnamon

As a creative jack-of-all-trades in the marketing world, I also bring that imaginative flair to my drink choices. Whether on a night out, sunny vacation or social gathering with girlfriends, I'm always in my element with a refreshing cocktail in hand. Cocktails have stolen my heart because of the endless possibilities to experiment and explore. My favorite cocktail of the moment is the "Lazy Red Cheeks"! A delicious cocktail using vodka as a base. I love vodka because it mixes perfectly with non-alcoholic drinks. My favorite spirit? Rum!
