Château Coutet 2020 is a sweet white wine from Barsac in Bordeaux, produced by a property classified as Premier Grand Cru Classé in 1855. What makes this vintage especially engaging is the way its sweetness is carried by freshness and lift, a style linked to Coutet's cool clay-limestone terroir in Barsac.
The 2020 blend is led by 95% Sémillon, with 4% Sauvignon Blanc and 1% Muscadelle. The grapes were affected by noble rot and picked by hand in six successive passes between mid-September and late October. That level of selection matters here: the vintage called for patience, careful timing and a very precise approach in the vineyard.
Fermentation took place in barrel, followed by 18 months in French oak. The wine is described as delicate (…)Chateau Coutet 2020 Barsac Demi (37,5cl)

Its origin in Haut-Barsac, on an argilo-limestone plateau, is an important part of the wine's identity and helps frame the style: concentrated, botrytised fruit with the freshness expected from this appellation.
