Kracher Grande Cuvée Trockenbeerenauslese 2021 is a white noble sweet wine from Illmitz in Burgenland, made in the Seewinkel area around the Neusiedler See. Its origin matters here: warm days, cool nights and morning mist around the lake create the conditions for noble rot, the element behind the concentration expected from Trockenbeerenauslese.
The 2021 blend is 65% Welschriesling and 35% Chardonnay. Chardonnay was fermented and matured in barriques, while Welschriesling was handled in large 1,000-litre wooden casks. After 28 months of maturation, the wine carries Kracher's Nouvelle Vague idea: a noble sweet style in which wood maturation adds shape and depth without taking the focus away from the fruit.

It comes from the Seewinkel area near Lake Neusiedl, where morning mist, evaporation from the lake and the warm Pannonian climate create the conditions for noble rot, the key element behind this concentrated style.
The wine is made from 60% Welschriesling and 40% Chardonnay and forms part of the Kracher 2019 Collection. As a Nouvelle Vague release, it was fermented and matured in new barriques, with 28 months of ageing adding fine spice and wood influence to the wine's rich fruit and sweetness.
