Aile D'Argent Du Chateau Mouton Rothschild 2020

Aile d'Argent 2020 is the dry white wine of Château Mouton Rothschild in Bordeaux. It shows another side of the Pauillac estate: a white cuvée born from the planting of white grape varieties in the 1980s, now sitting alongside the château's red wines as its own distinct expression.
For the 2020 vintage, the blend is 66% Sauvignon and 34% Sémillon. The fruit comes from sandy and gravelly plots on the Mouton Rothschild terroir, although the wine is labelled as Bordeaux blanc. It was an early vintage, harvested from 24 to 28 August, with the timing chosen to retain freshness and aromatic finesse.
The winemaking points to precision rather than heaviness: no skin contact, no malolactic conversion, and oak ageing with around 45% new wood (…)Aile D'Argent Du Chateau Mouton Rothschild 2021

Aile d'Argent du Château Mouton Rothschild 2021 is the dry white Bordeaux from Château Mouton Rothschild. It shows another side of a property best known for Pauillac: a white wine rooted in the Sauvignon Blanc, Sauvignon Gris and Sémillon plantings established on the estate from the early 1980s by Philippine de Rothschild.
The 2021 vintage brought a cooler, fresher style, with the white grapes harvested between 6 and 20 September. A small proportion underwent malolactic conversion to soften the naturally high freshness of the year, while maturation with partly new oak adds texture and depth rather than an overtly woody impression.
The name has a personal origin as well: Aile d'Argent refers to a children's story created by Baron Philippe de (…)Alto De Cantenac Brown 2021

Alto De Cantenac Brown 2021 reveals a different side of Château Cantenac Brown: not a red Margaux, but a dry white Bordeaux Blanc from France. The château writes the name as AltO, a musical reference that sits alongside the domaine's other wines.
The 2021 blend is built on 90% Sauvignon Blanc and 10% Sémillon, grown on a cool 1.80-hectare clay-limestone parcel. That gives the wine its fresh, focused backbone, while fermentation and ageing in French oak barrels add shape and texture. The oak plays a supporting role rather than dominating the wine.
At Drankenshop Broekmans, this is a particularly appealing bottle for anyone curious about white Bordeaux with energy, citrus brightness and a little extra breadth on the palate. Production is (…)Alto De Cantenac Brown 2022

Alto De Cantenac Brown 2022

AltO de Cantenac Brown 2022 shows a different side of an estate more often associated with Margaux. This is the dry white Bordeaux from Château Cantenac Brown, produced from a small vineyard of around 1.8 hectares on cool clay-limestone soil. The blend is 90% Sauvignon Blanc and 10% Sémillon, mirroring the vineyard planting itself.
The appeal of the 2022 vintage lies in its careful handling. The grapes were harvested on 25 and 26 August, slowly pressed under inert gas and fermented in barriques. Ageing took place in French oak barriques, mostly one-wine barrels with only a small proportion of new oak. That keeps the focus on freshness, aromatic clarity and mineral structure rather than obvious oak influence.
In the selection at Drankenshop (…)Blanc D'Aiguilhe 2019

Blanc D'Aiguilhe 2019 shows Bordeaux in a crisp, dry white expression made entirely from Sauvignon Blanc. It comes from Château d'Aiguilhe in France and is released as AOC Bordeaux Blanc, although the estate itself is associated with Castillon-Côtes de Bordeaux. The white cuvée has been produced since 2015, and the 2019 vintage stands out for its fresh, precise style.
The grapes were harvested on 17 and 18 September 2019. After pneumatic pressing, fermentation took place in stainless steel tanks, followed by six months of ageing: mostly in stainless steel, with a smaller part in oak barrels. That combination helps preserve the wine's energy while giving it a medium-bodied structure.

Blanc D'Aiguilhe 2020 presents the white side of Château d'Aiguilhe. The estate is based in Saint-Philippe-d'Aiguilhe on Bordeaux's right bank, yet this cuvée is separate from the red Château d'Aiguilhe from Castillon-Côtes de Bordeaux. It is a dry Bordeaux Blanc made entirely from Sauvignon Blanc.
For the 2020 vintage, the grapes were harvested in early September. Fermentation took place in stainless steel, followed by six months of ageing, mainly in tank with a smaller proportion in oak barrels. That choice keeps the focus on freshness, structure and the chalky, stony tension mentioned in the tasting notes, rather than on overt oak character.
At Drankenshop Broekmans, this is the kind of white Bordeaux we like to point out when (…)Blanc D'Aiguilhe 2022

Blanc d'Aiguilhe 2022 shows the white-wine side of Château d'Aiguilhe in Bordeaux. This is a dry AOC Bordeaux Blanc, made as a separate white cuvée from the estate's red wines and produced from 100% Sauvignon Blanc.
For the 2022 vintage, the grapes were harvested on 26 August. Fermentation took place in stainless steel, followed by six months of maturation, mainly in stainless steel with a smaller proportion in barriques. The oak influence is supporting rather than dominant, adding texture and roundness without taking over the wine.
The setting of Château d'Aiguilhe, on clay-limestone and clay-loam soils over limestone, fits the wine's fresh, chalky and mineral impression. At Drankenshop Broekmans, this is the kind of white Bordeaux we like (…)Blanc De Chasse Spleen 2021

Blanc De Chasse Spleen 2021

Blanc de Chasse-Spleen 2021 is a white Bordeaux from Château Chasse-Spleen in Moulis-en-Médoc. That already makes it a wine with a slightly different angle: the Médoc is far better known for red wines, while white crus from this area remain relatively uncommon.
The 2021 blend brings together sémillon, sauvignon blanc and muscadelle from the estate's white vineyards. These vines cover 4 hectares on sandy-clay soils, with an average vine age of 25 years. Château Chasse-Spleen first planted white varieties in the 1990s, and Blanc de Chasse-Spleen has been commercially released since 1995.
Fermentation and maturation involve both stainless steel tanks and new barriques. The wine was aged for 9 months, partly on the lees, with 50% (…)Blanc De Chasse Spleen 2022

Blanc de Chasse-Spleen 2022 is the dry white wine from Château Chasse-Spleen in Moulis-en-Médoc, Bordeaux. Although it comes from the Médoc, it is released as AOC Bordeaux Blanc, as white wines from this area do not fall under a Médoc appellation.
The 2022 blend is 50% Sémillon, 40% Sauvignon blanc and 10% Muscadelle, sourced from a small 3.5-hectare white planting on sandy-clay soils. That gives the wine a very Bordeaux-like balance of freshness, tension and gentle roundness, with Sémillon bringing texture and Sauvignon blanc keeping the profile lively.
Fermentation took place in concrete vats and barriques, followed by 9 months of ageing with a portion of new and one-year-old barrels. The oak presence is described as (…)Blanc De La Tour Carnet 2019

Blanc de La Tour Carnet 2019 shows a less expected side of an estate closely linked with the Médoc. Rather than a red Haut-Médoc, this is a dry white Bordeaux Blanc from France, made from Sémillon and Sauvignon Blanc. The white vineyard area mentioned for this wine covers just 1.25 hectares, giving it a particularly small-scale feel within the La Tour Carnet range.
The 2019 vintage was handled with notable care: selection in the vineyard, harvesting in small crates, pneumatic pressing, cool fermentation and 8 to 10 months on fine lees with regular bâtonnage. The use of gravity, with no pumping or filtration until bottling, points to a wine made with attention to texture and clarity.

Blanc De La Tour Carnet 2020 reveals a less familiar side of Bordeaux: a dry white wine from the Médoc, a region far more often associated with reds. It is produced by Château La Tour Carnet, a Bernard Magrez estate, and released as Bordeaux Blanc. The white vineyard covers just 1.25 hectares, giving this cuvée a distinctly small-production feel within the estate's range.
The blend is led by sauvignon blanc, with sémillon playing a supporting role. The grapes were hand-harvested, gently pressed and fermented at cool temperatures. Ageing for 8 to 10 months on fine lees, with regular bâtonnage, brings extra texture and depth to the wine without losing its fresh Bordeaux identity.

Blanc de La Tour Carnet 2021 shows the white-wine side of an estate more often associated with red Haut-Médoc. This is a dry Bordeaux Blanc from France, made from an equal blend of Sauvignon Blanc and Sémillon. The Sauvignon Blanc brings citrus freshness and aromatic lift, while the Sémillon adds roundness and texture.
The fruit comes from a small white vineyard of around 1.25 hectares, planted with vines averaging about twenty years of age on clay-limestone soils. That origin matters, because it helps explain the wine's combination of freshness and substance. The estate also carries Haute Valeur Environnementale level 3 certification.

Blanc de Lynch-Bages 2021 is a dry white Bordeaux from Château Lynch-Bages in Pauillac, a property far better known for red wine, yet one that has produced this white cuvée since 1990. That gives it an interesting place in Médoc history, among the early white wines made by a Cru Classé estate.
The 2021 blend is led by Sauvignon Blanc, with Sémillon and a small proportion of Muscadelle adding shape and nuance. That explains the wine's combination of bright aromatic lift, rounded texture and a more structured feel on the palate. The white grapes come from around seven hectares of vines within the historic Lynch-Bages terroir.
Its cellar work is clearly aimed at preserving precision. Much of the must ferments in individually (…)Blanc De Lynch Bages 2022

Blanc de Lynch-Bages 2022 is a dry white Bordeaux from Château Lynch-Bages in Pauillac, the estate of the J.-M. Cazes family. Lynch-Bages is best known for its red Pauillac wines, yet this white has built a clear identity of its own. First released commercially in 1990, it belongs to the early wave of white wines produced by a Médoc Grand Cru Classé estate.
The 2022 vintage is made from sauvignon blanc, sémillon and muscadelle, with sauvignon blanc taking the lead. The grapes come from Garonne gravel soils and were harvested by hand, with careful selection in the vineyard and again on the sorting table. Even in a vintage marked by early growth and extreme climatic conditions, the grapes reached full ripeness while keeping their freshness.

The 2022 blend is 70% Sémillon and 30% Sauvignon Blanc. That balance defines the wine: Sémillon brings body and a satin-like roundness, while Sauvignon Blanc adds lift, clarity and freshness. The fruit comes from the Clos des Lunes estate, spread across the hilly terroirs of Sauternes, Bommes and Barsac.
The production is careful rather than showy. Grapes are hand-picked in small crates, sorted in several stages and slowly pressed. Maturation lasts (…)Cdl Lune D'Argent 2022 Magnum (1,5l)

Its origin matters. The vineyards lie across complementary terroirs in Sauternes, Bommes and Barsac, bringing together depth, freshness and finesse in a dry white wine rather than the sweet style more commonly associated with the area.
For the 2022 vintage, the grapes were hand-harvested in small crates over successive pickings. The winemaking remained deliberately gentle: slow pneumatic pressing, no destemming, no maceration, natural settling by gravity, then (…)Chateau Bellevue Blanc 2022

Chateau Bellevue Blanc 2022 is a dry white Bordeaux from France, made under the AOC Bordeaux Blanc. The estate is based in Sauveterre-de-Guyenne, in the Entre-Deux-Mers area, and the wine carries that fresh white Bordeaux identity with citrus brightness, floral lift and a gentle exotic fruit accent.
The blend brings together Sauvignon Blanc, Sémillon and Colombard. Sauvignon is given a short period of skin contact, while the Sémillon is pressed directly. Maturation for 4 to 6 months on fine lees in wooden vats and stainless steel adds a rounder opening to the wine, while keeping its fresh, dry profile intact.

Château Chillac Vent De Face 2021 is a red AOP Bordeaux from France, produced by a family estate in Morizès, in the Entre-deux-Mers area. It is an organic Bordeaux built around a traditional blend, with Merlot as the main grape alongside Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and a small proportion of Malbec.
That blend explains the feel of the wine rather well. Merlot brings roundness and fruit, while the Cabernet varieties and Malbec add structure and a lightly spicy edge. The wine keeps a recognisable Bordeaux shape, yet the emphasis remains on supple fruit and drinkability.
Château Chillac works vineyards planted on varied soils, including clay-limestone, sandy and stony plots. The estate highlights biodiversity, soil care and organic and (…)Chateau De Rayne Vigneau Grand Vin Blanc Sec 2022

Only 1,927 bottles were produced for the 2022 vintage. The wine comes from plots with blue clay and limestone, and reflects years of work on origin selection, harvest timing, vinification and ageing. Its blend of 60% sauvignon blanc and 40% sémillon is central to the style: sauvignon blanc brings power and structure, while sémillon contributes fruit and aromatic complexity.

Château Doisy Daëne Blanc 2019 is a sweet white Bordeaux from Barsac, within the Sauternes area. The estate is a Deuxième Grand Cru Classé from the 1855 classification, yet the real interest here lies in the way this wine combines sweetness, concentration and freshness.
The 2019 vintage is made from 100% Sémillon. Its vineyards sit on the high plateau of Barsac, with clayey sands over limestone, and the vines average around 50 years of age. Grapes for the sweet wine are harvested by hand in successive selections, focusing on berries concentrated by noble rot.
In the cellar, the different picking passes and parcels are vinified separately in barriques. The wine then sees oak ageing followed by time in stainless steel before (…)Chateau Doisy Daene Blanc 2020

The vines stand on the Haut-Barsac plateau, where clay, limestone and a thin layer of clayey sand help shape the wine's fresh, mineral style. The grapes are hand-harvested in successive passes. Fermentation takes place in barriques, with separate handling by parcel and picking, followed by around twelve months of ageing in barriques on the lees with regular bâtonnage.
That gives the wine more depth than a purely aromatic Sauvignon Blanc. Freshness is clearly part of its identity, but so are texture, discreet oak (…)Chateau Doisy Daene Blanc 2022 Magnum (1,5l)

There is real estate history behind the bottle. Château Doisy-Daëne is based in Barsac, has been in the Dubourdieu family since 1924, and this dry white cuvée was introduced in the early 1950s by Pierre Dubourdieu. The vineyards sit on clayey sand over limestone, a soil profile the producer connects with finesse in the white wines.

The Sauvignon Blanc comes from plots on the high Haut-Barsac plateau, where clay-limestone soils and the area's red sands help shape a style built around freshness and finesse. Chateau Doisy Daene Grand Vin Sec Bordeaux 2022 is a dry white Bordeaux with a distinctive background. The estate is best known for Barsac and Sauternes, yet this Grand Vin Sec presents its sauvignon blanc in a dry, aromatic and structured style under the Bordeaux Blanc AOC appellation.
The grapes come from Doisy Daene's sauvignon parcels in Barsac, where clay-rich sands lie over a limestone subsoil. That setting is part of the wine's identity, and the cellar work supports it: fermentation in barriques, around one fifth renewed each year, followed by eight months on the lees with regular bâtonnage.
At Drankenshop Broekmans, we appreciate this bottle because it shows how serious and characterful dry white Bordeaux can be. The 2022 vintage also received (…)
