Cardinale Estate Cabernet Sauvignon 2018 is a Napa Valley red that brings together several voices of the valley rather than speaking from a single site alone. For this vintage, the blend was built from fruit across seven appellations and 32 individual wine lots, including areas such as Diamond Mountain District, Mount Veeder, Howell Mountain, Spring Mountain District, Stags Leap District, St. Helena and Atlas Peak.
The composition is led by Cabernet Sauvignon, making up 90% of the blend, with 10% Merlot contributing to the structure and mouthfeel of the vintage. The wine spent 22 months in French oak, a little over four fifths of it new, placing it firmly among serious Napa Cabernet-based wines with depth, shape and cellar ambition.

Cathiard Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon 2020 is an estate-grown Napa Valley red from vineyards in St. Helena and Rutherford, at the foot of the Mayacamas Mountains. It also marks an important moment for Cathiard Vineyard, as 2020 was the first vintage released under the ownership of Florence and Daniel Cathiard.
The wine is made from 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, sourced from the estate's oldest hillside vineyard, with an average vine age of 35 years. The grapes were hand-harvested, carefully sorted and moved by gravity, followed by gentle extraction during vinification. Maturation lasted 18 months, mostly in new French oak.

Chappellet Signature Cabernet Sauvignon 2019 is a Napa Valley red built firmly around Cabernet Sauvignon, yet it has more to say than pure varietal power. The blend is 77% Cabernet Sauvignon, supported by Petit Verdot, Malbec and Merlot. That gives the wine its dark-fruited core, structure and depth, with the supporting Bordeaux varieties adding colour and concentration.
Signature Cabernet Sauvignon is a long-standing cuvée within the Chappellet range, described by the estate as a cornerstone of its portfolio for more than five decades. For the 2019 vintage, Chappellet links the wine to the dry, rocky soils of Pritchard Hill, where small, concentrated grapes are formed. The Signature Cabernet Sauvignon is one of the estate's core wines, with a name that refers to Donn Chappellet's signature on the label as a promise of quality when the line was introduced.
The 2021 vintage is led by Cabernet Sauvignon, supported by Petit Verdot, Malbec and Merlot. Its fruit comes from mountain vineyards with dry, rocky soils, where small, concentrated berries play an important role. The growing season reinforced that character: a very dry winter, a mild spring and summer without damaging heat spikes, and a small crop marked by concentration and structure.

Dalla Valle Maya 2020 is a Napa Valley red with a very clear sense of origin. Maya has been made since 1988 as a Bordeaux-inspired cuvée, and the 2020 vintage is composed of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon and 40% Cabernet Franc. Its Cabernet Sauvignon core comes from Maya's Vineyard, a five-acre parcel planted in 1987 and named after Maya Dalla Valle.
The site lies on the eastern slopes of Oakville, on volcanic, iron-rich soils. For 2020, the growing season began dry, with a relatively warm spring, followed by warm days and cool Napa evenings. Ripening accelerated in August, bringing an early harvest. Pym Rae 2017 from Tesseron Estate is a red Napa Valley wine from Mount Veeder, shaped by a clear Bordeaux-oriented approach. In this vintage the blend is 80% Cabernet Sauvignon and 20% Merlot. Cabernet Franc, although present on the estate, was left out in 2017 because the grapes were affected by the fires at the end of the season.
That vintage context matters here. A wet, cold winter was followed by a late start to the growing season, then sunshine, heat and several days above 110°F in the valley in early September. According to the producer, the elevated position of the vineyard helped the grapes remain healthy and balanced. The estate vineyard sits on sedimentary limestone soils, is not irrigated, and has vines averaging around 30 years of age.
