Cap D'Or 2022 is a red wine from Saint-Georges Saint-Emilion on Bordeaux's Right Bank. It is positioned as the second wine of Château Cap Saint George and comes from the same terroir north of Saint-Emilion. The wine is built around merlot, with cabernet sauvignon and cabernet franc adding further structure and detail.
For the 2022 vintage, the blend is 84% merlot, 8% cabernet sauvignon and 8% cabernet franc. The vineyard context is clay-limestone soil with south and south-west facing exposures. That background fits the wine's described style: red fruit, floral notes, freshness, minerality and a subtle touch of oak used to support the fruit and the terroir rather than dominate them.
The grapes are sorted twice, first in the vineyard and then in the (…)Cap D'Or 2022 Magnum (1,5l)

Cap D'Or 2022 Magnum brings Saint-Georges-Saint-Émilion to the table in a generous 1.5 litre format. This red Bordeaux from France is linked to Château Cap Saint George and is described as the estate's second wine. The 2022 vintage is clearly Merlot-led, supported by Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc, giving the wine its focus on ripe fruit, freshness and structure.
The vineyard setting adds useful context: clay-limestone soils, an average vine age of around 36 years, and careful grape selection both in the vineyard and in the cellar. Ageing in vat over a long 18-month period keeps the emphasis on fruit and minerality, with the oak influence described as subtle rather than dominant.

Chateau Cap Saint-George 2022 is a red Bordeaux from St Georges Saint-Emilion, one of the small satellite appellations on the Right Bank. Merlot leads the blend, supported by cabernet franc and cabernet sauvignon, giving the wine a clearly Right Bank identity built around dark fruit, structure and savoury depth.
The estate belongs to Jean-Philippe Janoueix and works vineyards planted on clay-limestone soils with south to south-west exposure. The winemaking is described as precise, with hand harvesting, gravity-fed handling and fermentation of uncrushed berries. Ageing takes place in French oak barrels, including a significant proportion of new oak, so the young wine carries a noticeable wood influence alongside its fruit.
