Goldlack Trocken 2021 sits at the very top of Schloss Johannisberg's dry Riesling range. It comes from the historic monopole vineyard surrounding the Schloss in Germany's Rheingau, a continuous site planted with Riesling since 1720. For this cuvée, the fruit is drawn from south to south-west facing parcels such as Urban-Wingert, Langenberg and Mönchen Quer.
The cellar work adds depth without turning the wine into a showpiece of oak. The grapes were hand-harvested during the first nine days of October 2021, followed by 48 hours of skin contact. Fermentation took place in large 1,200-litre Stückfässer, made from oak grown in the estate's own forests, before 24 months on fine lees in the Bibliotheca Subterranea, nine metres underground at a cool, steady (…)Schloss Johannisberg Orangelack Riesling Kabinett 2023

Schloss Johannisberg Orangelack Riesling Kabinett 2023 is a Rheingau Riesling with a very specific sense of place: the Schloss Johannisberg vineyard surrounding the castle in Johannisberg. The estate has been fully devoted to Riesling since 1720, and the Orangelack name refers to its historic use of different wax seal colours to mark quality and ripeness levels.
The 2023 vintage was hand-picked in the first week of harvest from the central part of Johannisberg. Whole bunches were gently pressed in a basket press, followed by fermentation in stainless steel. The wine then spent six months on fine lees in a large 1,200-litre wooden cask made from oak from the estate itself. That combination keeps the wine precise and fresh, while adding a measured sense of depth.

Weingut Robert Weil Monte Nostrum 2022 is a dry white Riesling from the Rheingau, grown in the highest and coolest parcels of the Kiedrich hillside vineyards. The name refers to this elevated setting and to the historic surroundings of the former castellum nostrum near Scharfenstein castle. At Drankenshop Broekmans, we see this as a wine that speaks very clearly of place: focused, cool-toned and mineral rather than broad or fruit-driven.
The grapes come from poor, stony soils with a strong presence of phyllite slate, between Turmberg and Gräfenberg and close to the forest edge. Sun exposure, ventilation and day-night temperature differences all play their part here. The fruit was selectively hand-harvested, followed by a short period of skin contact, gentle pressing, (…)
