Acaibo 2017

Acaibo 2017 is a Sonoma County red wine shaped by a distinctly Bordeaux-minded approach. Gonzague and Claire Lurton bring their Bordeaux background to Chalk Hill, where this estate-bottled wine is made from Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Merlot grown on the property. The style is built around structure, freshness and dark fruit rather than an overtly ripe Californian expression.
The vineyard sits at around 750 feet, between the cooler influence of Russian River and the warmer conditions of Alexander Valley and Knights Valley. Volcanic ash and clay loam soils form the base, while the vineyard is farmed organically with limited irrigation. That combination gives the wine a clear Sonoma origin, handled with notable restraint and precision.

Trinite Estate Acaibo 2016
In stock
Trinite Estate Acaibo 2016 is a Sonoma County red with a clear Bordeaux inspiration, yet it remains firmly Californian in origin. It is the first label of Acaibo, the California project of Gonzague and Claire Lurton, built around Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Merlot.
The vineyard lies near Chalk Hill, close to Healdsburg, at around 250 metres above sea level. Volcanic and clay-rich soils, organic farming methods and very limited irrigation give the wine a serious, site-driven foundation. The 2016 growing season began dry, was helped by April rainfall, and then developed evenly, allowing the fruit to ripen under favourable conditions.
Small-lot vinification in temperature-controlled stainless steel was followed by 16 months in French oak barrels in a (…)Verite La Joie 2018 Magnum (1,5l)

Verite La Joie 2018 Magnum is a Sonoma County red wine with Cabernet Sauvignon clearly at its core. Among Verite's three Bordeaux-inspired cuvées, La Joie is the Pauillac-influenced one: dark-fruited, structured and built around the natural firmness of Cabernet Sauvignon.
The 2018 blend is led by Cabernet Sauvignon, supported by Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot and Malbec. Its fruit comes from several Sonoma County appellations, including Alexander Valley, Bennett Valley, Chalk Hill and Knights Valley. Verite treats these sites as individual micro-crus, vinifying the small lots separately before bringing them together in the final blend.
Maturation took place over 16 months in French oak barrels, with a very high proportion of new oak and barrel (…)Verite La Muse 2018 Magnum (1,5l)

Verite La Muse 2018 Magnum (1,5l)
On request only
Verite La Muse 2018 Magnum is a red wine from Sonoma County with clear Bordeaux inspiration and a distinctly Californian origin. La Muse is Verite's Merlot-led cuvée; in the 2018 vintage it is built around 90% Merlot, with Cabernet Franc and Malbec completing the blend. The 1.5-litre magnum format gives the wine real presence, especially for a bottle with this level of structure and ageing ambition.
The fruit comes from several Sonoma County appellations, including Alexander Valley, Bennett Valley, Chalk Hill and Knights Valley. That selection of micro-crus is central to the way La Muse is composed: it is less about one single site and more about bringing together carefully chosen Sonoma origins. The wine spent 16 months in French oak, with a very high proportion of (…)Verite Le Desir 2018 Magnum (1,5l)

Verite Le Desir 2018 Magnum (1,5l)
On request only
Verite Le Desir 2018 Magnum is a Sonoma County red wine with Cabernet Franc at its centre and a clear inspiration from Saint-Émilion. Within Verite's three main wines, Le Desir is the Cabernet Franc-led blend; in the 2018 vintage it is composed of 82% Cabernet Franc, 12% Merlot and 6% Malbec.
Rather than presenting Sonoma County as a single origin, Verite builds this wine from a range of small vineyard parcels across appellations such as Alexander Valley, Bennett Valley, Chalk Hill and Knights Valley. The estate refers to these sites as micro-crus, and each lot is handled separately before the final blend is made. For Le Desir, the focus is on Cabernet Franc from cooler sites, with aromatic expression, structure and mineral detail playing an important role.

Verite Mix Case 2005 3x75cl

Verite Mix Case 2005 brings together three red wines from Sonoma County in one assorted case: La Muse 2005, La Joie 2005 and Le Désir 2005. Rather than simply offering three bottles from the same producer, it lets you taste three Bordeaux-inspired ideas from the same Californian vintage side by side.
La Muse is Merlot-led and takes its cue from Pomerol. La Joie is built around Cabernet Sauvignon with Pauillac as its point of reference. Le Désir places Cabernet Franc at the centre, inspired by Saint-Émilion. All three wines come from Sonoma County and were aged for 18 months in new French oak, yet each wine has its own emphasis and identity.
The 2005 growing season began cool and wet, with rain continuing into June, followed by a steady (…)
