This is Halloween, this is Halloween...". What began as a typical American celebration has transformed in recent years into an indispensable part of Belgian autumn traditions. For those who don't hide their love for Halloween, we have something special in store: our hair-raising Halloween collection. Muhaha!
The origins of Halloween
From terrifying costumes to spooky parties and nights full of Netflix horror movies -Halloween has made its way to our country and has no intention of leaving. But Halloween is not just a modern celebration; it is an amalgamation of ancient traditions dating back centuries. The origins of Halloween can be traced back to the Celtic festival called Samhain (pronounced "sow-in"). For the Celts, this festival marked the end of harvest time and the beginning of winter.
One of the most striking features of Samhain was the belief that on the evening of 31 October, the line between the living and the dead faded. This opened the door to the world of spirits, ghosts and supernatural creatures. To protect themselves from these supernatural visitors, the Celts lit bonfires and wore costumes that were sometimes terrifying.
Over time, Roman and Christian influences were integrated, leading to the celebration of All Saints' Day on 1 November and the night before, known as All Saints' Eve, or simply Halloween.

Los Siete
Inspired by the passion, traditions and culture of their native Mexico, brothers Eduardo and Julio Mestre founded Los Siete Misterios in 2010 with the aim of finding and sharing a drink that represents the customs, culture and passion of Mexico - Mezcal. They sought out local mezcaleros and learned about the ancient knowledge that was often only passed down from father to son. They partnered with these people to develop a contemporary vision of mezcal while respecting tradition. With their products, they support local producers and communities, and their range offers a complete overview of the different styles you can find. Their labels are also totally in the Halloween spirit and should therefore definitely not be missing from our sellectie.

The name "Amuerte" reminds us that death is always present, an inevitable part of our lives. But this is precisely why it is essential to cherish and celebrate every moment. This is the philosophy behind Amuerte Gin.
What makes this gin truly unique is the coming together of four generations of artisanal gin and gin makers from Belgium, who have combined their expertise with carefully hand-picked coca leaves. These carefully chosen ingredients result in a unique taste experience that excites the senses.
Moreover, Amuerte Gin has a bottle that is a work of art in itself. The design, created by talented artists Havi Cruz and Adrian Dominguez, is like a masterpiece on your table. It is therefore the perfect gift for Halloween!

As a creative jack-of-all-trades in the marketing world, I also bring that imaginative flair to my drink choices. Whether on a night out, sunny vacation or social gathering with girlfriends, I'm always in my element with a refreshing cocktail in hand. Cocktails have stolen my heart because of the endless possibilities to experiment and explore. My favorite cocktail of the moment is the "Lazy Red Cheeks"! A delicious cocktail using vodka as a base. I love vodka because it mixes perfectly with non-alcoholic drinks. My favorite spirit? Rum!
