About HENRI GIRAUD
Henri Giraud is a family-owned business from the French Champagne region, located in the village of Ay, in the Marne area. The brand has a history that dates back to the early 17th century, with the Giraud family being active for generations in the vineyards of this prominent champagne community. What sets Henri Giraud apart within the world of champagne is the strong focus on terroir and the use of mainly Pinot Noir grapes sourced from the Grand Cru vineyards surrounding Ay. A distinctive element in their production philosophy is the use of oak barrels for fermentation and aging, instead of the commonly used stainless steel. These barrels are made from local oak from the Argonne forest, which contributes to the complex and layered style of the champagnes. In addition to their classic Brut range, Henri Giraud also produces cuvees in smaller editions, where craftsmanship, innovation, and respect for the environment are central. The family-oriented approach and the strong local character make the champagnes of Henri Giraud recognizable, without compromising on authenticity and quality.
