About CAPEL
Capel is a Chilean pisco brand that originates in the Elqui Valley, a region in northern Chile where the climate with many hours of sunshine and cool nights is ideal for grape cultivation. The brand is produced by the cooperative Cooperativa Agricola Pisquera Elqui Limitada, which has played a central role in the Chilean pisco industry since its foundation in 1938. Capel mainly uses local grape varieties such as Moscatel for its pisco, which are characteristic of the Chilean style of pisco: usually mild, fruity and bright in character. Thanks to this traditional method and the strong connection with the region, Capel has grown into one of the larger producers in Chile. The range varies from young, crystal-clear pisco to more mature varieties that have been aged on wood for a period of time and therefore develop more complexity. Pisco from Capel is drunk both neat and in cocktails such as the Pisco Sour, which makes the brand a popular choice both within and outside Chile for those who want to get acquainted with this South American drink.
