About DADA CHAPEL
Dada Chapel started a few years ago on the Zandberg in Ghent. The building where the distillery is located has a rich history. In the 13th century, there was an inn, the Pelicaen. After that, it came into the hands of some noble families. During the time of Napoleon, the influential tax collector Maes lived there. We do not have hard facts yet, but the legend goes that Napoleon may have stayed here as well. At the end of the 19th century, the Sisters of Childhood Jesu moved in and took care of people with eye diseases and people at rest. After several years of renovation, the building is ready for new adventures. The spirited new chapter for the chapel and the coach house was transformed into a distillery, Dada Chapel. Inspired by dadaïsm, the revolutionary artistic movement which peaked in the early 20th century, we want to push boundaries in this traditional sector. What is dada? "Everything is dada, nothing is dada!" No rules, no restrictions. Dada Chapel is a creative haven, where thinking differently is a way of life, critical experimentation is a must with the holy credo: "In Odd We Trust". Dada Chapel makes Brhum, gin, vodka and memories.
