Aperol has existed since 1919, so it is already more than 100 years old. The original recipe was established after 7 years of experimenting and perfecting by the brothers Luigi and Silvio Barbieri in their father's liqueur factory. It quickly became popular as an aperitif drink on the Italian terraces. In the 1950s, this popularity received a strong boost due to the invention of the Aperol Spritz, now a globally known cocktail mix. The success is thanks to the unique combination of spicy flavors and the cheerful color.
