Product info about La Dame De Montrose 2019
La Dame de Montrose 2019 is the second wine of Château Montrose in Saint-Estèphe, made from the same vineyard as the Grand Vin but through its own selection and blending process. It carries the identity of the estate in a form described as silkier, more supple and more immediately marked by red fruit than the first wine.The 2019 vintage came from a warm Bordeaux year, with picking taking place from 19 September to 8 October. The blend is led by 48% Cabernet Sauvignon and 45% Merlot, with smaller proportions of Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. That Cabernet presence gives the wine structure, while the Merlot brings a rounder, more approachable side.
After 12 months in French oak barrels, 30% of them new, La Dame de Montrose 2019 shows the seriousness of Saint-Estèphe without being only a wine for long-term cellaring. In the Bordeaux range at Drankenshop Broekmans, it is a particularly interesting way to discover the Montrose name through a wine with estate pedigree, vintage definition and real presence. Only the last bottles of this vintage remain.

About CH MONTROSE
Château Montrose is a respected winery from the Bordeaux region in France, located in the appellation of Saint-Estèphe, which is part of the famous Médoc area on the left bank of the Gironde. The estate was established in the early 19th century and gradually grew to become one of the important names in the region. Château Montrose has held the classification of Deuxième Cru Classé since 1855, meaning Second Grand Cru Classe, which indicates considerable historical reputation and quality status in the history of Bordeaux wine. The vineyard covers approximately 95 hectares and is planted mainly with Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, supplemented with smaller amounts of Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. Its location close to the river offers a favorable microclimate for grape ripening. Montrose is known for its rather classic, robust style of red wine with great aging potential, with wines typically powerful, rich, and structured, often with expressive aromas of dark fruit and earthy notes.
