Product info about Chateau Gazin 2019
Château Gazin 2019 is the estate's grand vin, a red Pomerol from Bordeaux's Right Bank. It comes from the Pomerol plateau, where clay and gravel are central to the identity of the wine. The blend is led by merlot, supported by cabernet sauvignon and cabernet franc for added structure, spice and aromatic detail.The 2019 growing season brought a hot, very dry summer. In that setting, the clay soils were particularly important, helping the vines retain freshness and avoid a halt in ripening. Château Gazin harvested parcel by parcel at the desired point of maturity, and on certain young merlot vines bunches were removed to avoid overripe fruit notes and dry, rustic tannins.
The wine was vinified without sulphur and matured in barriques, with 50% new oak used for the grand vin. The château notes that neither alcohol nor oak dominates, and that the wood is well integrated. About CH GAZIN
Château Gazin is a French winery from the famous Bordeaux region and is known for its production of red wine on the right bank area of the Dordogne river. The estate is located in Pomerol, a relatively small but prestigious wine appellation that is internationally regarded as the birthplace of some of the most highly valued Bordeaux wines. The winery has a long history dating back to the 18th century and extends over approximately 26 hectares of vineyards. The vines consist mainly of Merlot, supplemented with smaller quantities of Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon, a composition that is characteristic of many Pomerol wines.
