Cloudy Bay Sauvignon Blanc shows Marlborough in a very recognisable way: bright, aromatic and driven by crisp citrus freshness, with ripe fruit held in check by a clean, saline edge. Much of the fruit comes from vineyards on the Wairau Valley floor, where free-draining gravelly soils play an important role in shaping this Sauvignon Blanc style.Most of the fermentation takes place in stainless steel, keeping the wine focused and expressive. A small part of the blend is treated differently, with fermentation in oak and some wild yeast influence, adding texture and extra depth without taking away the wine's lively, citrus-led identity.
At Drankenshop Broekmans, we see this as a white wine with real gastronomic appeal. It sits beautifully alongside seafood, oysters, sashimi, steamed mussels with garlic, citrus and parsley, as well as green salads and goat's cheese.
