Hoenshof Rood 2021 is a Belgian red wine with a distinctly local story. It comes from Wijndomein Hoenshof in Borgloon, Limburg, in the Haspengouw wine region, and is built around modern red grape varieties such as Cabernet Cantor and Cabernet Noir. These varieties are particularly relevant in a cooler climate, where ripe and healthy grapes are not always self-evident.The winemaking gives the wine its colour and aromatic depth without pushing it into a heavy style. The grapes undergo a long skin maceration, with fermentation handled separately by grape variety and vineyard parcel. Only afterwards are the different lots blended, based on samples from the vats.
