Farina Gran Colegiata 2016 Magnum is a red wine from Toro in Castilla y León, bottled in the generous 1.5-litre magnum format. It comes from Bodegas Fariña, where the Gran Colegiata name carries real meaning: it refers to the historic Colegiata of Toro and to the early wines Fariña made under the Colegiata name in the 1970s.The wine is made entirely from Tinta de Toro, sourced from old ungrafted vines more than 60 years of age. The grapes were hand-harvested, fermented in stainless steel under controlled temperature, and matured for 18 months in American oak barrels. Fariña positions it as a Reserva, with a style that deliberately looks back to the original Gran Colegiata identity.
At Drankenshop Broekmans, this magnum sits comfortably among Spanish reds with depth, structure and a clear sense of origin. The 2016 vintage has also been widely recognised by several wine guides and international reviewers, reinforcing its place as a serious Toro wine with presence.
