Chateau Les Grands Chenes 2019 is a dry red wine from the AOC Médoc on Bordeaux's left bank. It comes from Saint-Christoly-du-Médoc and is made by Château Les Grands Chênes, an estate associated with Bernard Magrez. The 2019 blend is 70% merlot and 30% cabernet sauvignon, giving the wine a Médoc identity with a generous dark-fruited core.The grapes come from a 49-hectare vineyard on Garonne gravel, with vines averaging around 40 years of age. Fermentation took place in small temperature-controlled stainless-steel vats, followed by a long maceration of 28 to 30 days. The wine then matured for 14 months before bottling in April 2021. That background helps explain the combination of ripe fruit, firm structure and more savoury, cedary depth.
