Product info about Tempo D'angelus 2020
Tempo D'Angelus 2020 presents a different reading of Angélus. It is not a Saint-Émilion Grand Cru, but a separate Bordeaux AOC cuvée made by the same team. Introduced in 2019, this 2020 release is only the second vintage, giving it a distinct place within the Angélus range.The wine is built mainly on merlot, with cabernet franc completing the blend. Its grapes come from estate-owned parcels around Castillon-la-Bataille, Saint-Magne-de-Castillon, Sainte-Colombe and the Francs sector, just a few kilometres from Saint-Émilion. Clay-limestone slopes, tuff, marl and cool deep soils help explain the combination of ripeness, freshness and drive in the wine.
With 18 months of barrel ageing, Tempo D'Angelus 2020 remains a Bordeaux with structure, yet it is positioned as more approachable in youth than the grander Angélus wines. At Drankenshop Broekmans, we see its appeal in that contrast: the hand of a well-known house, expressed through a cuvée that feels more direct and open.
Only the last bottles remain, which makes this second vintage particularly worth noting. Beef is mentioned as a fitting food pairing, especially when the wine is given some time to breathe before serving.

Château Angélus is a winery from Saint-Émilion, in the Bordeaux region of France, best known for its red wines based on merlot and cabernet franc. The estate has a rich history dating back to the 18th century and has been owned by the de Boüard de Laforest family for several generations. Château Angélus belongs to the Premier Grand Cru Classé A category of Saint-Émilion, a designation granted to only a select number of estates based on strict quality criteria. The vineyards are located on the slopes near the town of Saint-Émilion and benefit from a combination of clay and limestone soils, which contribute to the complexity and aging potential of the wines.
