Ferrer Bobet Selecció Especial Red 2018 is a dry red Priorat from Catalonia, made from 100% Cariñena. It comes from the Porrera area, where very old vines grow on steep slate slopes. The wine is built around depth rather than softness: dark fruit, floral detail, spice and a clear mineral line all play an important role.The grapes come from century-old vines on costers de pissarra, the steep slate terraces associated with Priorat. Harvesting was done by hand in small 10 kg boxes, followed by strict berry-by-berry selection. In the cellar, Ferrer Bobet used gravity, fermentation in wooden vats and 18 months of ageing in new fine-grained French oak with light to medium-light toast. The wine was bottled unfined and unfiltered, then given further bottle ageing before release.

Ferrer Bobet is a Spanish winery from the famous Priorat area in Catalonia, founded by Sergio Ferrer-Salat and Raul Bobet.
