Château Talbot 2020 is the estate's grand vin from Saint-Julien in the Médoc. This red Bordeaux is led by cabernet sauvignon, with merlot and a small proportion of petit verdot completing the blend. The result is a wine built on structure, with ripe dark fruit and the more classical Médoc accents that give it depth and seriousness.The setting matters here. The vineyards are in Saint-Julien-Beychevelle, close to the Gironde, on gravelly alluvial ridges with fine Günz gravel over a clay base. For the 2020 vintage, the grapes were harvested by hand and carefully sorted before vinification in wooden vats. Ageing lasted 15 months in barriques, 60% of them new.
