Product info about Du Tertre Blanc 2020 Magnum (1,5l)
Du Tertre Blanc 2020 Magnum shows a different side of Château du Tertre. The estate is strongly linked with red Margaux, yet this white wine steps outside that frame and is released as Vin de France. That choice makes sense when you look at the blend: this is not a conventional Bordeaux white, but a deliberately distinctive cuvée.The 2020 vintage combines Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Gros Manseng and Viognier. Sauvignon Blanc brings the citrus lift, freshness and tension; Chardonnay adds roundness; Viognier contributes floral nuance; and Gros Manseng gives ripeness with a saline edge. The grapes come from a 3.86-hectare white-wine vineyard on sandy and gravelly soils, described by the producer as helping preserve freshness during the particularly hot, dry summer of 2020.
The cellar work adds another layer to the story. The grapes were hand-harvested, manually and optically selected, then pressed under inert conditions with only the first press juice selected. Fermentation began partly in stainless steel before continuing in barriques, followed by six months on fine lees in 225- and 500-litre barrels with weekly bâtonnage.

About DU TERTRE
Du Tertre is a classic winery from the French Bordeaux region, located in the heart of Margaux in the famous Medoc. The estate has a rich history dating back to the 12th century, but became especially known as a vineyard from the 16th century onwards. The vineyards of Du Tertre cover approximately 50 hectares and are situated on a sandy gravel hill, from which the winery derives its name (tertres means hills). The terroir is renowned for its particular suitability for cultivating traditional Bordeaux grapes such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. Du Tertre, as one of the classified Grands Crus Classés of 1855, is known for elegant, refined Margaux wines with a typically floral and fruity character, subtle spiciness and a beautiful balance. Over the years, the cellars have seen investment in modern vinification techniques, while the estate remains faithful to classic Bordeaux traditions. The assortment typically consists of a Grand Vin and a second wine, both focused on quality and the typicity of the Margaux area. Today, the estate is internationally appreciated by both enthusiasts and collectors thanks to the consistent style that brings out the character of the Margaux vineyards.
