Chateau Les Grands Chenes 2020 Demi is a red Médoc from Bordeaux in a 37.5 cl half bottle. It is a useful format when you want the depth and structure of a proper Bordeaux red without opening a full-size bottle.The wine comes from Saint-Christoly-du-Médoc on the Left Bank, close to the Gironde. The 2020 vintage is a blend of 65% merlot and 35% cabernet sauvignon, grown on Garonne gravel soils. With vines averaging around 40 years of age, it carries a recognisably Médoc style: dark fruit, firm structure and ripe, present tannins.
Vinification takes place in small temperature-controlled stainless steel vats, with an average maceration of 28 to 30 days. The wine then matured for 14 months and was bottled in March 2022.
