Chateau La Garde 2020 Rouge is the red grand vin of Château La Garde in Pessac-Léognan, Bordeaux. The 2020 vintage is a dry Bordeaux blend led by merlot, supported by cabernet sauvignon and a small proportion of petit verdot, giving the wine a clear sense of structure without losing its dark-fruited depth.The estate lies in Martillac, where gravel ridges, plateaus, clay and limestone all play a role in the vineyard. For this vintage, producer information particularly highlights the merlot grown on clay-limestone soils, bringing a mineral dimension alongside the ripe fruit and firm tannic frame. The wine is vinified lot by lot, with careful sorting, cold pre-fermentation maceration and 12 to 14 months of ageing in oak barrels, partly on the lees.
