Product info about Chateau Angelus 2020 Magnum (1,5l)
Château Angélus 2020 Magnum is Saint-Émilion on a grand scale, not only because of the 1.5 litre format, but also because this is the estate's grand vin from a highly regarded 2020 vintage. The château refers to this millésime as Le Sublime, a name that reflects the importance of the release within the estate's own presentation.The wine comes from the south-facing slope and foot of the slope in Saint-Émilion, on clay-limestone soils. Its blend of 60% Merlot and 40% Cabernet Franc is central to its identity. The Merlot brings depth and volume, while the Cabernet Franc plays an important role in the floral lift, precision and tension described for this vintage.
Vinification is carried out by grape variety and parcel. The wine was aged for around 22 months, with new fine-grained French oak barrels used for the Merlot and part of the Cabernet Franc, while selected Cabernet Franc matured in larger foudres to help retain aromatic definition. The magnum format gives it real presence at the table, especially alongside rich classic dishes such as beef, veal, lamb, game, truffle and mushrooms. Château Angélus is a winery from Saint-Émilion, in the Bordeaux region of France, best known for its red wines based on merlot and cabernet franc. The estate has a rich history dating back to the 18th century and has been owned by the de Boüard de Laforest family for several generations. Château Angélus belongs to the Premier Grand Cru Classé A category of Saint-Émilion, a designation granted to only a select number of estates based on strict quality criteria.
