Cantina Sardus Pater Arruga Carignano del Sulcis Superiore 2020 is a Sardinian red wine made entirely from Carignano. It comes from Sant'Antioco in the Sulcis area of south-west Sardinia, where old vines grow close to sea level on sandy soils. That very specific island setting is central to the wine's identity.The name Arruga means road or street in Sardinian, referring to the white road that leads to the vineyard. The wine itself is built with considerable care: alberello-trained vines with an average age of around 80 years, fermentation in stainless steel, full malolactic fermentation in barriques, then 12 months in Allier oak barriques followed by 12 months of bottle ageing.

Sardus Pater is a winery from the south of Sardinia, Italy, with a strong regional identity that dates back to the founding of the coöperative in 1949. Located in Sant'Antioco, close to the archaeological site of the same name, Sardus Pater works closely with local winegrowers who cultivate their grapes on the island and the surrounding mainland.
