Cantine Sardus Pater Is Arenas Carignano del Sulcis Riserva 2019 is a Sardinian red wine with a very clear sense of origin. Is Arenas means the sands in Sardinian, a direct reference to the sandy soils of Sant'Antioco, where the Carignano grapes are grown at sea level.The wine is made entirely from Carignano, sourced from old ungrafted bush vines with an average age of around 80 years. That background gives this Riserva a more concentrated, structured expression within the Carignano del Sulcis DOC. Fermentation takes place in steel, followed by maturation for 12 months in Allier barriques and a further 12 months of bottle ageing.

Located in Sant'Antioco, close to the archaeological site of the same name, Sardus Pater works closely with local winegrowers who cultivate their grapes on the island and the surrounding mainland.
