Chateau Brane Cantenac 2020 is the Grand Vin of Château Brane-Cantenac, from Margaux in the Médoc. As a Deuxième Grand Cru Classé from the 1855 classification, it carries an important Bordeaux pedigree, yet the real interest here lies in the way the 2020 vintage brings together concentration, freshness and firm architectural structure.Cabernet sauvignon forms the core of the blend, supported by merlot and small proportions of cabernet franc, carmenère and petit verdot. The wine comes from selected plots, including older vines on the Brane plateau, with deep Quaternary gravel and a more clay-influenced subsoil. That background helps explain the emphasis on aromatic precision, tannin definition and the dark-fruited depth described in the tasting notes.
The growing season was warm and dry, but the harvest began with healthy grapes, and cool September nights helped preserve acidity. Vinification took place in wooden vats, with the R'Pulse system mentioned to avoid pumping and improve cap immersion. Maturation lasted 18 months in new French oak barriques, with additional amphora ageing also noted for this vintage.

Ch Brane Cantenac is a well-known wine producer from the Bordeaux region in France, specifically located in the Margaux appellation within the Medoc. The estate carries the full name Chateau Brane-Cantenac and has a long history dating back to the 18th century. In 1855, the chateau was recognized as Deuxième Grand Cru Classé during the famous Bordeaux classification, indicating an established reputation within the region. The current owner is the Lurton family, who have managed the estate since 1925; currently, Henri Lurton is at the helm.
