Chateau Canon 2021 is the grand vin of Château Canon in Saint-Émilion, Bordeaux. This red dry Bordeaux comes from the Saint-Émilion Grand Cru appellation and is listed as Premier Grand Cru Classé B. For the 2021 vintage, the blend is 71% Merlot and 29% Cabernet Franc.The fruit comes from the limestone plateau of Saint-Émilion, close to the village. Château Canon describes its soils as porous limestone with clay fissures, a combination linked to even ripening and freshness. That background fits the way this vintage is described: less about sheer weight, more about freshness, tension, red-fruited clarity and a limestone-driven mineral impression.
Maturation lasted 16 to 18 months, with 50% new oak. The oak notes described around the wine remain measured, bringing spice, cacao, gentle roasted tones and sandalwood rather than dominating the wine. About CH CANON
Château Canon is a well-known winery from France, located in the heart of the famous wine region Saint-Émilion in Bordeaux. The estate covers approximately 34 hectares and is mainly planted with Merlot and Cabernet Franc, grape varieties that are typical for the region. Château Canon has a rich history dating back to the 18th century and owes its name to Jacques Kanon, a former owner who bought the property in the middle of the 18th century. Since then, the château has had several owners, and since 1996 it has been part of the French luxury group Chanel, which invests heavily in both the winery and its reputation. Canon is internationally known as a Premier Grand Cru Classé B within the classification of Saint-Émilion, which is a serious indicator of quality.
