Tempo d'Angelus 2022 presents a more immediately approachable side of Château Angélus. Rather than being positioned like the estate's grand Saint-Émilion wine, it is made as a Bordeaux with a younger drinking window, while still carrying the imprint of the Angélus world. The grapes come from parcels acquired in 2017 near Castillon-la-Bataille, Saint-Magne-de-Castillon, Sainte-Colombe and the Francs area, only a few kilometres from Saint-Émilion.The setting is one of clay-limestone slopes with tuffeau, marl and deep, cool soils. For the 2022 vintage, the blend is listed as 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc. Tempo d'Angelus is vinified in a dedicated cellar within Chai Carillon, where modern winemaking is used for this cuvée, and available information mentions 18 months of ageing in barrel.
