Blason de L'Evangile 2021 is the second wine of Château L'Evangile in Pomerol, offered here in a 1.5-litre magnum. It is made as a more approachable reading of the estate's Pomerol terroir, while still carrying the identity of the château.The 2021 vintage gives this wine a particularly clear context. It was Château L'Evangile's first organically certified vintage, shaped by an Atlantic climate, spring frost and changeable conditions. The blend is led by merlot, with cabernet franc adding aromatic lift, floral detail and spice.
Blason is sourced from lighter sandy-clay and silty sandy soils over a clay subsoil. According to the estate, these parcels give a wine that is softer, lighter in style and more fruit-driven than the grand vin. Fermentation took place in temperature-controlled cement vats, followed by around 16 months of ageing with a combination of French oak and vat maturation to help retain freshness and fruit expression.

Château L'Evangile is a French winery located in the famous appellation of Pomerol, part of the Bordeaux region. The estate, situated on the right bank of the Gironde river, enjoys great renown in the wine world for its elegant and deep red wines, mainly made from Merlot, often supplemented with a smaller proportion of Cabernet Franc. Château L'Evangile has a history dating back to the 18th century and is one of the established names of Pomerol, despite the fact that the region itself has no formal classification system like other parts of Bordeaux.
