Carillon d'Angelus 2021 is the second wine of Château Angelus in Saint-Emilion, yet it has a clear identity of its own. First released with the 1987 vintage, Carillon is drawn from selected Saint-Emilion parcels, and the 2021 blend is built around 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc.The 2021 vintage is marked more by tension, precision and aromatic freshness than by sheer weight. It was a demanding year at the estate, with strict selection in the vineyard and lower volumes as a consequence. At Drankenshop Broekmans, this magnum stands out for customers looking for a refined Saint-Emilion with structure, freshness and a distinct vintage expression.
Maturation lasted 16 months in fine-grained French oak barriques, 60% new and 40% one-year-old. The oak is part of the wine's framework rather than the main subject: it supports the fruit, spice and tannic shape without taking over.
Serve it around 16 to 18 °C. It is well suited to refined meat dishes, lamb, game birds, mushroom-based preparations and mature cheeses.

Château Angélus is a winery from Saint-Émilion, in the Bordeaux region of France, best known for its red wines based on merlot and cabernet franc. The estate has a rich history dating back to the 18th century and has been owned by the de Boüard de Laforest family for several generations.
