Château La Dominique 2021 is a Saint-Émilion Grand Cru Classé from Bordeaux's Right Bank, produced in the north-western part of Saint-Émilion near the edge of Pomerol. The blend reflects that setting clearly: Merlot takes the lead, with Cabernet Franc and a small proportion of Cabernet Sauvignon adding support.The château describes 2021 as a demanding vintage, marked by hail and mildew pressure. What makes the wine interesting is that it has not been shaped as a heavy, forceful Saint-Émilion, but rather as a fresher, more refined interpretation with a supple fruit expression. The grapes were hand-harvested, and the wine spent 14 months in maturation, including new barriques, one-year-old barriques and a small share of alternative vessels such as amphorae and wine globes.
