Maison Philippe Charlopin Pernand-Vergelesses 2022 is a red Burgundy from the Côte de Beaune, made entirely from Pinot Noir. The wine comes from a blend of three to four parcels within Pernand-Vergelesses, an appellation in the northern part of the Côte de Beaune near the hill of Corton. It is a village wine rather than a premier cru, giving the bottle a clear and approachable sense of place.Philippe Charlopin is based in Gevrey-Chambertin and works across several Burgundy appellations. This Pernand-Vergelesses shows a different facet of that range: red Burgundy from an area where limestone, clay and stony soils form part of the appellation's identity. Maison Philippe Charlopin is a French winery from Burgundy, founded by Philippe Charlopin in the 1970s. Charlopin started with a small vineyard holding in the village of Gevrey-Chambertin, located in the renowned Côte de Nuits. Since then, the estate has grown into a significant wine business with more than twenty hectares of vineyard spread over various prestigious appellations in Burgundy. Philippe Charlopin is known for his personal and artisanal approach to winemaking, combining both traditional craftsmanship and modern techniques. The range consists mainly of red wines based on Pinot Noir grapes, originating from well-known villages such as Gevrey-Chambertin, Chambolle-Musigny, and Marsannay.
