Maison Philippe Charlopin Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Bel-Air 2022 is a red Burgundy from Gevrey-Chambertin in the Côte de Nuits. Bel-Air is the premier cru climat here, giving the wine a clear sense of place within one of Burgundy's most recognised Pinot Noir villages.The fruit comes from a hillside site with stony clay-limestone soils, a setting associated in the supplied notes with structure, freshness and good ripening. The wine is made through traditional vinification in closed vats, with controlled extraction of aroma and tannin, followed by ageing in oak barrels, partly new. Maison Philippe Charlopin is a French winery from Burgundy, founded by Philippe Charlopin in the 1970s. Charlopin started with a small vineyard holding in the village of Gevrey-Chambertin, located in the renowned Côte de Nuits. Since then, the estate has grown into a significant wine business with more than twenty hectares of vineyard spread over various prestigious appellations in Burgundy. Philippe Charlopin is known for his personal and artisanal approach to winemaking, combining both traditional craftsmanship and modern techniques.
