Château Croizet-Bages 2022 Magnum brings Pauillac into a generous 1.5 litre format, the kind of bottle that feels naturally suited to cellaring, sharing and more considered occasions. This is the grand vin of Château Croizet-Bages, a Fifth Growth from the 1855 classification, grown on the Bages plateau in the Médoc.The 2022 blend is led by cabernet sauvignon at 65%, supported by 34% merlot and 1% petit verdot. That cabernet core gives the wine its Pauillac frame, while the merlot adds a rounder fruit element. The vineyards stand on deep gravel and sandy gravel soils, with vines averaging 35 years of age. Maturation took place for 12 months in French oak barriques, half of them new.
Although 2022 was marked by heat and drought, the château's technical information points to wines that retained fruit, freshness and relatively refined tannins.
