Château Fourcas Hosten 2022 is a red Bordeaux from Listrac-Médoc, made by an estate that has been reshaping its vineyard work since 2010 through soil studies and parcel-by-parcel planting. The 2022 vintage also has a particular relevance for the château, as it is the second organically certified vintage of this wine.The blend is firmly rooted in the Médoc tradition: 53% Merlot, 44% Cabernet Sauvignon and 3% Petit Verdot. Merlot is mainly planted on clay-limestone soils, while Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot come from the gravel-rich sections of the estate. That combination gives the wine its mixture of ripe fruit, structure and retained freshness.
The growing season was anything but ordinary. Budbreak and flowering came very early, the summer was dry and hot, rain arrived at the end of August just when it was needed, and a long late summer allowed the grapes to be picked at good ripeness. The wine was vinified by concrete vat and aged for 12 months in a mix of new barrels, one-wine barrels and amphorae.

Château Fourcas Hosten is a wine estate from the French Bordeaux region, located in the Listrac-Médoc appellation. The chateau is situated in the village of Fourcas, a historic wine area that is especially known for its powerful and structured red wines. The origins of Château Fourcas Hosten date back to the early 19th century, and the estate has had several owners over time. Since 2006, it has been owned by brothers Laurent and Renaud Mommeja, who are also involved in the family business Hermès. The estate mainly cultivates classic Bordeaux grape varieties, such as Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Cabernet Franc. The vineyards cover about 50 hectares, and in recent years, winegrowing practices have become increasingly sustainable, with attention to biodiversity and healthy soil.
