Chateau Giscours 2022 is a red Bordeaux from Margaux, the grand vin of Chateau Giscours and part of the 1855 Grands Crus Classés of the Médoc. It comes from a vintage marked by heat and dryness from spring through summer, yet the available notes point to a wine where concentration is held together by freshness.The blend is led by cabernet sauvignon at 64%, supported by 30% merlot, 3% petit verdot and 3% cabernet franc. The fruit comes from the estate's vineyards on deep Garonne gravel soils. Harvest took place from 1 to 29 September, with both manual and optical selection, followed by vinification in concrete and stainless steel and 17 months of ageing in French oak barriques, half of them new.
One detail makes the 2022 especially interesting: no second wine, La Sirène de Giscours, was produced for this vintage. The wine has also drawn strong critical attention, including 98 points from James Suckling and being named Wine of the Year 2025 by Wine Spectator. Serve at around 16 to 18 °C. Opening the bottle about an hour before serving gives the wine time to settle and allows you to decide whether decanting is useful. It is well matched with braised meat, entrecôte, rump steak, côte de boeuf, leg of lamb, confit duck, black truffle and hard cheeses. Only the last bottles remain available.

Château Giscours is a historic winery from the Bordeaux region in France, located in Margaux on the left bank of the Gironde. The wine estate has a history dating back to the 14th century but began producing wine on a significant scale in the 19th century. Château Giscours was recognized in 1855 as a Troisième Grand Cru Classé during the renowned classification of Bordeaux wines, indicating that it belongs to the leading wine estates of the region. The vineyards of Giscours cover more than 80 hectares, primarily with cabernet sauvignon, merlot, and a small share of cabernet franc and petit verdot.
