Château d'Armailhac 2022 Demi is the half-bottle format of Château d'Armailhac's grand vin. It is not a separate cuvée, but the same red Pauillac bottled in 37.5 cl, a useful size when you want to open a serious Bordeaux without committing to a full bottle.Its identity is firmly rooted in Pauillac and the Médoc. Château d'Armailhac is a 5ème Grand Cru Classé from the 1855 classification and belongs to the Mouton branch of the Rothschild family. The 2022 blend combines Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and a small proportion of Petit Verdot, with the relatively strong role of Cabernet Franc noted as a recognisable feature of the estate.
The 2022 vintage was marked by generous sunshine, dry conditions and several heatwaves, balanced by rainfall that helped replenish water reserves. According to the château, the harvest was healthy, with small berries contributing concentration and balance. The wine was matured for around 18 months in French oak barrels, 50% of them new.
