Product info about Baron De Brane 2022 Magnum (1,5l)
Baron de Brane 2022 is the second wine of Château Brane-Cantenac in Margaux, presented here in a 1.5 litre magnum. It shows the estate from a more supple and approachable angle than the grand vin, while still carrying the structure and poise associated with a serious Margaux red.For this vintage the blend is led by merlot, at 65%, with 30% cabernet sauvignon, 4% cabernet franc and 1% petit verdot. The selection is linked mainly to plots that bring more elegant, lighter fruit, supported by material that adds structure. Twelve months of oak ageing gives the wine shape, while the emphasis remains on ripe fruit, juiciness and velvety tannins.
The 2022 growing season was warm, dry and sunny, with early harvesting spread over more than a month. Careful extraction was important because of the small berries, and that shows in a wine with ripe dark fruit, freshness and a polished tannin profile. At Drankenshop Broekmans, this is the kind of Bordeaux we like to introduce to customers who want Margaux pedigree in a form that is a little more open in its youth.
The magnum bottle brings extra presence to the table, especially alongside red meat, lamb, mushroom dishes, wine-based sauces or medium-hard cheeses. The producer recommends serving at around 18 °C and decanting for roughly one and a half to two hours. With only the last bottles remaining, this is a vintage to consider while it is still available.

About CH BRANE CANTENAC
Ch Brane Cantenac is a well-known wine producer from the Bordeaux region in France, specifically located in the Margaux appellation within the Medoc. The estate carries the full name Chateau Brane-Cantenac and has a long history dating back to the 18th century. In 1855, the chateau was recognized as Deuxième Grand Cru Classé during the famous Bordeaux classification, indicating an established reputation within the region. The current owner is the Lurton family, who have managed the estate since 1925; currently, Henri Lurton is at the helm. The vineyard covers an extensive area, mainly planted with Cabernet Sauvignon as the primary grape, supplemented by Merlot and smaller amounts of Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot, and Carmenère. Brane-Cantenac is known for elegant and refined wines that are typical of Margaux, with an aromatic profile that combines fruit, flowers, and subtle wood tones.
