Chateau Canon Pecresse 2022 is a red wine from Fronsac with a clear Right Bank Bordeaux identity. Merlot leads the blend, supported by cabernet franc, and the fruit comes from a small estate in Saint-Michel-de-Fronsac. Its vineyards sit on clay-limestone soils on a limestone plateau, an element often linked to the character of Canon-Fronsac.There is more to this vintage than the blend alone. The estate has been organically certified since January 2020, and the 2022 was made from hand-harvested grapes, with fermentation at moderate temperature and gentle extraction. Ageing took place partly in French oak and partly in concrete, giving the wine structure while keeping a fresh, mineral thread.
