Château Brane-Cantenac 2021 is the grand vin of this Margaux estate, a Deuxième Grand Cru Classé from the 1855 classification. It is a dry red Bordeaux led by cabernet sauvignon, with merlot and small proportions of cabernet franc, carmenère and petit verdot completing the blend.The 2021 vintage in Margaux was shaped by contrast: frost, spring rain, a rather overcast summer and then a late period of dry weather. At Château Brane-Cantenac, work was adapted parcel by parcel, while the cellar approach focused on gentle extraction. That explains much of the wine's style: freshness, fine tannins and aromatic precision rather than sheer weight.
Vinification took place in wooden vats, followed by 18 months in new French oak barriques. In the Bordeaux range at Drankenshop Broekmans, this is the kind of Margaux we like to present to customers looking for pedigree, ageing potential and a more focused expression of the appellation. With only the last bottles remaining, it is worth considering with some care.
The château indicates a cellaring potential of 25 to 30 years. If opened young, it benefits from 1.5 to 2 hours in a decanter and a serving temperature of around 18 °C.

The estate carries the full name Chateau Brane-Cantenac and has a long history dating back to the 18th century.
