Illumination 2022 is Quintessa's white wine from California, made with fruit from Napa County and Sonoma County. Its identity sits close to a Bordeaux Blanc style, built around Sauvignon Blanc with Sémillon, and with Sauvignon Blanc Musqué playing an important aromatic role in the blend.
There is real detail behind the wine. Part of the fruit comes from Quintessa Estate, including the Las Casas block, supported by partner vineyards in cooler areas of Sonoma and Napa. The grapes were hand-picked, gently whole-cluster pressed, then fermented with native yeasts in a mix of French oak, acacia, concrete egg fermenters and stainless steel. Illumination Sauvignon Blanc 2021 is Quintessa's white wine from California, made with fruit from Napa County and Sonoma County within the broader North Coast area. Although Sauvignon Blanc defines the name and the core of the wine, this is not a single-varietal bottling. Sauvignon Blanc Musqué, Sauvignon Blanc and Sémillon are brought together to create a dry white wine with aromatic lift, but also notable texture and depth.
The wine traces back to a small Sauvignon Blanc planting established by Agustin and Valeria Huneeus on the Quintessa estate in Rutherford in 2002.
