Château Bel-Air Cuvée Jean & Gabriel 2016 is a red Bordeaux from Lussac-Saint-Émilion, offered here in a 1.5-litre magnum. The Jean & Gabriel name refers to family ancestors of the producer, a fitting detail for an estate that has remained in the same family for more than a century. At Drankenshop Broekmans, it stands out as a more selected expression of the estate, rooted in old vines and classic Right Bank Bordeaux character.
The blend is an equal split of Merlot and Cabernet Franc. For this cuvée, the producer works with old vines on blue clay, averaging around 40 years of age. Fermentation takes place naturally in small temperature-controlled cement vats, with gentle temperatures and slow extraction. The wine then spends 18 months in (…)Chateau Bel-Air Cuvee Jean & Gabriel 2019

Château Bel-Air Cuvée Jean & Gabriel 2019 is a red Bordeaux from AOC Lussac-Saint-Émilion, made from an equal blend of Merlot and Cabernet Franc. It comes from a dedicated 5-hectare selection of old vines, with an average age of around 40 years, growing on blue clay soils.
Château Bel-Air is a family estate run by the Roi family and has worked with consultant Stéphane Derenoncourt since 2014. The approach behind Jean & Gabriel is careful rather than showy: natural fermentation in small temperature-controlled concrete vats, gentle extraction and 18 months of ageing in French oak barriques. That élevage gives the wine its polished frame, while the dark fruit and Cabernet Franc freshness remain central.

Château Bel-Air Cuvée Jean & Gabriel 2021 is a red wine from Lussac-Saint-Émilion in Bordeaux. It is positioned as a selection cuvée within Château Bel-Air, with a name that refers to Jean and Gabriel, the father and grandfather in the family background of the estate.
The wine is made from Merlot and Cabernet Franc, with available cuvée information referring to an equal blend. The fruit comes from older vines on blue clay parcels, a detail that gives useful context to the structured style described for this wine. The grapes are fully destemmed and partly left uncrushed, followed by malolactic conversion and maturation in barrique. Around 18 months of ageing is mentioned for the cuvée, with new oak accounting for about (…)Chateau Bel-Air Cuvee Jean & Gabriel 2021 Magnum (1,5l)

Chateau Bel-Air Cuvée Jean & Gabriel 2021 is a dry red wine from Lussac-Saint-Émilion, offered here in a 1.5-litre magnum. The larger bottle gives it a strong table presence, but the wine itself is already a step up in identity: Jean & Gabriel is the estate's separate top cuvée, drawn from selected parcels.
It is made by Château Bel-Air of the Roi family in Lussac. The name refers to the father and grandfather of Jean-Noël Roi, giving the cuvée a family-rooted meaning rather than a purely technical one. In 2021 the blend is split evenly between Merlot and Cabernet Franc, a combination that defines much of the wine's personality.
The selected parcels are associated with clay-based soils, including blue clay in the (…)Chateau Bel-Air Cuvee Jean & Gabriel 2022

The 2022 vintage is made from equal parts Merlot and Cabernet Franc, sourced from old vines growing on blue clay. The 2022 vintage is made from equal parts Merlot and Cabernet Franc, sourced from old vines with an average age of around 45 years.
