Legendary port house Graham's is celebrating its 200th anniversary with an exceptional release: the Bicentenary Collection Cabinet. This limited edition collection embodies two centuries of craftsmanship and family tradition. Only 30 copies of this exclusive cabinet have been made to order, each filled with 12 carefully selected portos that bring Graham's history and heritage to life.
In this blog, we dive deeper into the unique features of the cabinet, the special selection of portos and the refined details that make this collection a true work of art.
The cabinet: a masterpiece of design and craftsmanship
The cabinet in which the collection is presented is a masterpiece in itself. Designed in collaboration with Portuguese master cabinetmaker WeWood, the cabinet exudes timeless elegance. It is made of santospalissander wood, known for its rich grain and warm appearance, and is often used for luxury furniture and musical instruments. Moreover, the wood is FSC-certified, meaning it comes from sustainably managed forests.
The inside of the cabinet is lined with the iconic Graham's Green, providing a stylish backdrop for the twelve bottles. Two elegant shelves present the portos as true showpieces, with every detail finished with care. This cabinet is not just a piece of storage furniture, but an enduring tribute to the craftsmanship and rich history of Graham's.
The portos: a selection of iconic years
At the heart of the collection are 12 exceptional Portos: six classic Vintage Ports and six Single Harvest Tawnies. Each wine has been carefully chosen by members of the 3rd, 4th and 5th generations of the Symington family, who have guarded Graham's heritage for generations. Their personal selection reflects the identity and story behind each vintage.
- Vintage Ports: 1963, 1970, 1985, 1994, 1997, 2011 - iconic years with intense fruity aromas, complex tannins and long storage potential.
- Single Harvest Tawnies: 1961, 1976, 1982, 1995, 2000, 2006 - aged in oak casks, with rich notes of dried fruit, caramel and nuts.
Each bottle in the collection features a specially designed label and is individually numbered, further emphasising its exclusivity and collectible value.
The details: luxury accessories for the perfect tasting
In addition to the portos, the Bicentenary Collection Cabinet also includes a range of luxury accessories that contribute to the ultimate tasting experience:
- A hand-blown decanter and glasses: designed by Jancis Robinson MW in collaboration with British product designer Richard Brendon, with an elegant and functional design that maximises the porto's aromas.
- A two-piece Durand corkscrew: specially designed to carefully remove corks from ripe and precious wines without damaging them.
- A silver decanter funnel: Custom-made by the Portuguese family company Ourivesaria Coutinho, a renowned silversmith from Porto. This funnel ensures even aeration during decanting, allowing the aromas to fully unfold.
A book full of stories: two centuries of Graham's in words and pictures
The collection also includes a special book that tells the history of Graham's. Besides the milestones and highlights of the past 200 years, the book offers personal stories from the Symington family about the significance of the selected portos. These stories give each bottle in the collection an extra layer of meaning and emotion.
Collectible value: a timeless legacy
With only 30 examples worldwide, the Graham's Bicentenary Collection Cabinet is not only a tribute to two centuries of craftsmanship, but also an investment with unprecedented collector's value. The combination of rare portos, exclusive design and luxury accessories makes this collection a coveted object for wine lovers and collectors around the world.
Whether you are a lover of Vintage Ports, a connoisseur of Sigle Harvest Tawnies or simply have a passion for exceptional wines, this collection offers a unique opportunity to bring a piece of history into your home.
Although, unfortunately, it won't be for everyone's budget...

I've known Broekmans since I graduated in 2006 and thanks to Jan I've come to know the passion for spirits. I dedicate myself every day to the webshop, customer service and all the IT involved. In my spare time, besides whiskey, I can also really enjoy rum, but just as much as a gin tonic or a simple bellini. In the words of Martien Meiland, if there's no alcohol in it, don't call me!
