Live UPDATE Page - National strike action at bpost on 25 - 26 November

National strike action has been announced across Belgium on 25 and 26 November. Disruption is also expected at bpost and deliveries and transits abroad may be delayed. As we have no influence on this ourselves, we report on this page any updates received from bpost.

Update 25/11/2025

Dear customer,

We are in the middle of the 3 announced days of action called for by the Belgian trade unions to protest against measures taken by the federal government. Another national strike day is planned for tomorrow. This obviously affects our operations during this busy end-of-year period.

Thanks to your flexibility and cooperation and the enthusiastic efforts of our colleagues in the central services, we managed to process all scheduled volumes overnight. Our preventive measures help us to limit the impact and process as many shipments as possible, even in a challenging context.

We continue to adhere to the pre-agreed strict capacity planning and we are doing everything possible to ensure that your shipments are collected and delivered to your end customers as smoothly as possible.

We will get back to you on Thursday with another update and keep you further informed.

Thank you for your trust and understanding during this exceptional time.

Best regards,
Your bpost team

Update 21/11/25

Dear customer,

On 24, 25 and 26 November, Belgian trade unions are organising national days of action in response to measures taken by the federal government, with a national strike on 26 November. These actions may affect our operations during this busy end-of-year period.

We make every effort to limit the impact on our services and ensure timely dispatch and collection of your shipments.

Thanks to the deployment of our central services, we have provided additional sorting capacity for nearly 700,000 parcels during these days.

We make every effort to ensure delivery within D+2, on the principle of first in, first out. While we cannot fully promise this for every shipment, we are making every effort to minimise delays.

We are monitoring the situation closely and will keep you updated further next week.

Thank you for your trust and understanding as we take all possible steps to minimise the impact of these exceptional circumstances.

Best regards,
The bpost team

Update 31/10/25

Dear customer,

On 25 and 26 November, Belgian trade unions are organising a national strike in the public sector against certain measures taken by the federal government. This may have a direct impact on our operations.

We are doing everything possible to limit the impact on our services and are making every effort to ensure the timely dispatch and collection of your shipments.

We understand that you are counting on us during this busy end-of-year period. Therefore, we are putting in extra resources to clear any backlog as soon as possible:

- Our management has placed strong emphasis on constructive dialogue with union representation, which means that the bpost unions themselves are not calling for strikes.

- We are taking additional measures and making additional efforts to deal with the impact of possible disruptions.

- During this busy period, our office workers are also mobilised to help out.

As always, your customers will be informed correctly and on time via Track & Trace and the My bpost app.

Our team is of course ready to answer all your questions. We appreciate your confidence and thank you for your understanding in these exceptional circumstances.

Best regards,
The bpost team
