Balblair 2012 12 Year Old AM143 is very much a whisky built around one individual cask. Selected by Asta Morris, this Highland Single Malt from Balblair Distillery was distilled in November 2012 and bottled in February 2025 after 12 years of maturation. It comes from cask AM143, received a sherry cask finish and was bottled at 51% ABV.
Only 153 bottles were released, so this is not a broad house-style bottling but a narrow, cask-specific snapshot of Balblair through the lens of Asta Morris. That fits the bottler's philosophy well: selecting casks with character and allowing them to speak as authentically as possible.
