Chateau D'Yquem 2013 Demi (37,5cl)
On request only
Château d'Yquem 2013 Demi is the 37.5 cl half-bottle format of this sweet white Sauternes wine. It is not a separate cuvée, but the same wine in a smaller bottle, well suited to moments when opening a full bottle would be too much yet the character of Yquem is exactly what is wanted.
The 2013 vintage is based on 70% sémillon and 30% sauvignon blanc. Harvesting took place in several successive passes, selecting berries concentrated by noble rot rather than picking everything at once. Only around 40% of the crop was retained for the final wine, a detail that says much about the selectiveness behind this release.
Fermentation took place in new French oak barriques, with each lot assessed separately before the final blend was decided after (…)Chateau D'Yquem 2016

Chateau D'Yquem 2016
On request only
Chateau D'Yquem 2016 is a sweet white wine from Sauternes, produced by one of the appellation's most distinctive names and classified as Premier Cru Supérieur. The 2016 blend is led by Sémillon, supported by Sauvignon Blanc, giving the wine a framework in which sweetness and concentration are expected to be matched by clarity and freshness.
The vintage has a very specific story. A hot, very dry summer was followed by September rain and sunny periods that encouraged noble rot. Harvesting was carried out in four separate selections, continuing into early November, with a significant share of the crop arriving only in the final weeks. In the end, only around 40% of the harvest was used for the grand vin, a detail that says a great deal about the level of (…)Chateau D'Yquem 2016 Demi (37,5cl)

Chateau D'Yquem 2016 Demi (37,5cl)
On request only
Château d'Yquem 2016 Demi is the half-bottle format of Château d'Yquem 2016, the sweet white wine from Sauternes in Bordeaux. The 37.5 cl size does not indicate a separate cuvée; it is the same wine in a smaller bottle, well suited to thoughtful serving at the table.
Yquem has a singular position in Sauternes: it is the only estate classified as Premier Cru Supérieur in the 1855 classification of Sauternes and Barsac. The 2016 vintage is made from 75% sémillon and 25% sauvignon blanc, with grapes concentrated by noble rot. Harvesting took place in four successive passes between late September and early November, following a warm, very dry summer and a cool, dry autumn that allowed botrytis to develop slowly and evenly.
