Ian Macleod's As We Get It Highland Cask Strength

Ian Macleod's As We Get It Highland Cask Strength is built around a refreshingly straightforward idea: Highland single malt taken straight from the cask and bottled without colouring or chill filtration. It keeps the whisky close to its natural state, with the strength and texture that come with that approach.
At 60.5% alcohol, this is a forceful dram rather than a polished, softened style. The emphasis is on malt, warmth and spice, with the cask-strength presentation giving the whisky its robust presence. There is no age statement here; the focus is not on a number, but on the direct character of the spirit as it is bottled.
At Drankenshop Broekmans, we see this as a whisky for drinkers who enjoy discovering the unfiltered side of Scotch single malt. Ian (…)Ian Macleod's As We Get It Highland Cask Strength

Ian Macleod's As We Get It Highland Cask Strength is built around a simple but very expressive idea: Highland single malt taken straight from the cask, without colouring and without chill filtration. It is bottled at cask strength, so the whisky keeps a deliberately direct and unpolished feel.
At 62.3% alcohol, this is a powerful dram, but the tasting notes show that the strength is supported by flavour rather than standing on its own. Malt, citrus, honey, spice and a light floral touch all help shape its Highland character.
At Drankenshop Broekmans, we appreciate releases like this because they show whisky in a less adjusted form. Ian Macleod is a privately owned Scottish family company and a significant name in Scotch whisky production, and this bottling (…)Ian Macleod's As We Get It Islay Cask Strength

Ian Macleod's As We Get It Islay Cask Strength

Ian Macleod's As We Get It Islay Cask Strength is a direct, full-powered take on Islay single malt: peated, non-chill filtered and bottled at cask strength. Rather than leaning on an age statement, it puts the focus on the whisky as it comes from the cask.
At 60.4% ABV, this is a whisky with real weight behind it. The label's reference to the old British 107 proof measure suits the style well, underlining the robust nature of the bottling. Its Islay origin comes through in the smoky, peaty side of the whisky, supported by a clear salty edge.
At Drankenshop Broekmans, this is the kind of bottle we would introduce to someone who enjoys Islay whisky in a more concentrated and less polished form. A drop or two of water is well worth considering, not to dilute the (…)Ian Macleod's As We Get It Islay Cask Strength

Ian Macleod's As We Get It Islay Cask Strength

Ian Macleod's As We Get It Islay Cask Strength is a whisky that says a great deal through its name. It is bottled at cask strength, non-chill filtered, and built around the direct, peated personality of Islay. There is no age statement here; the focus is on the whisky as it comes, with its natural intensity left intact.
The Islay character is clear, with smoke and peat at the centre, supported by gentle sweetness, vanilla, caramel and a peppery edge. The label's reference to the old British measure of 107 proof underlines the powerful style of the bottling without making it feel polished or diluted.
At Drankenshop Broekmans, this is the kind of single malt we would introduce to someone who enjoys assertive Islay whisky and likes to explore it slowly. A drop (…)
